South Florida Cloggers -summer 2013 (July)

One of the nice things about being a part of this clogging team, besides the awesome group of people, is the opportunity to go into events/places that are otherwise off limits to the public.

Yesterday, the clogging team performed at Manheim car auctions

It was closed to the public for a few hours as thy had their own private vent going on.... We were happy to be part of the entertainment.

Becky couldn't attend this one (which is a RARE thing) but the clogger-moms stepped up to the plate.
Below, Mimi gathers the group for line-up.

Taliah's mom, Jeanette, took over the mike to introduce the team.
She's a natural.

We only had time to do 2 songs, but the crowd there seemed to really enjoy it.

I was 25 years older than then next oldest team member. Yikes!!

I'm sure that the crowd thought I was the teacher!
I totally fed into that by motioning for the crowd to cheer for the younger members.

Had to do a Ta-Da pic.... As always.
Gotta love the two boys.... Our up-and-coming-men's team.

This is what photos you find in a camera when your child takes it to walk to the car.
Meredith...

Meredith and Mia

Stopped on the ride home to get Snow-cones at Snoballs!
It was really, really good, too.
Good rainy day activity.

Our team is performing this weekend at the Round-Up bike-Fest on Sunday.

We performed last year at the same event... Was fun.

Practicing 2-4 days a week for our annual trip to a clogging convention in Daytona each August.

We will post updates soon.

South Florida Cloggers (Spring time clogging March/April 2013)

This clogging post/update is SO overdue that I'm afraid my role as story-teller for this group may be in jeopardy!

However...

Keeping up with this group is like shoveling the driveway while it's still snowing.... Just impossible.

(I know that Floridians can't relate... But you get the point, right?)

In a nutshell...

Here's what we've been up to since our Tennessee weekend...

Coral Springs Art Festival (March)
This was the start of a VERY busy weekend - most of it in northern Broward, which is s-w-e-e-t for those team members that live that way.

Our view of the awaiting crowd from the side of the stage.
Take notice of our best-est photographer (Liana) in the red shirt video-taping.
Everyone say a collective THANK YOU, Liana, please. ;)

You gotta love it whenever the younger ones are up on stage.

They really turn heads.... Too cute

A very, green group doing a Ta-da pose.... You know we GOTTA do it!

(note to self.... Remind everyone to wear black flip flops!)

After the show... Way to go girls!
Really.... How adorable is Emilia (far left) watch out for show-stopper in a few years.
And everyone's favorite little-Becky... April (with flowers)
Good job.

Next day.... Farmers Market (Parkland)
All dressed in green (again)... Well, it was St. Patrick's week

Who can resist the photo board?
(Lindsay, Holly, and Briana)

Next... Skylar, Olivia3, and April

Glad the weather held up.... Lora, our awesome #2 (so pretty)

Spring Fling at VSY Elementary (March)

Emilia and April.
(something tells me these two will be friends for a long time)

Love this shot
And totally calling out the Mia's shoes are a perfect match for someone's shirt

Outdoor shows.... No rain is always appreciated!

Walking out... Meredith was owning the entrance.
Cute entry-arch, isn't it?

Our most favorite founding father, John, hugs his daughter as Becky gets the crowd going.

April loved the balloons.... What kid doesn't?

Ok... Maybe Briana wasn't as impressed.

Next weekend.... Ranch Roam at the Bergeron house

Has everyone driven passed this compound!
It was a great home, beautiful property... Nice fund-raiser!
We were just honored to be invited to perform.
Of course, the ride in is ALWAYS interesting.

First class treatment... Driven in from the parking lot by stage-coach!
Really cool.

This event was huge... Our view from the backside of the stage
(yes... There was THAT many people attending)

Performing on clay meant we couldn't wear our tap-shoes!
A first for us.... A quiet, quiet performance.
But we pulled it off.... Briana is always ready to get the crowd involved.
Our clogging shoes all match.... Our sneakers do not
At least not when we started out.
Some of us didn't GET that 'ALL BLACK' sneakers really meant ALL BLACK.
Easily fixable..... With a can of Black spray paint, that is.
(see the 'before' shoe in the front?)

I'll tell ya.... ANYTHING for this team!

While there, Becky threw the crazy teenagers in jail.

But then the REAL cop came and threw US in.
He took a vote to ask if we should get bail. Ugh.

ok...ok... I know this was meant for smokers
But really, could we just walk by this sign?

Briana immediately recognized Paul from the TV show 'Gator boys'
He was nice enough to pose with us.

They fed us.... Great food.

And great chocolate!!

oh... Olivia3.... You Know I HAD to post this one!!

Just enough horses for a group ride.

Outside.... On the way out.

So, that was March in a nutshell.

April was just as crazy, busy... Deserves its own post.

We are SO grateful to the events that ask us to perform.

We really enjoy it. Thanks for sharing!

3 days... 4 shows... 1 parade (busy weekend)

An incredibly busy weekend has ended and (thankfully) the pics were uploaded early enough for it all to be recapped in one post.
(thanks, Liana)

Get those seat belts on, kids, because this is gonna make your head spin.

Friday (February 22, 2013)

Cowboys Saloon in Davie.

SFC performed there for the first time!
Based on the silliness outside (Olivia3's mom, Leigh Ann), It looks like the fun started out front.

Waiting to perform can be hard work.

And it's a great photo time... Which we are really good at, too.

Love this shot... Lined up ready to go.
Shows the cute-ness these kids have inside them.

Leigh Ann's fun and Bri's photo bombing NEVER get old.

Meredith and Olivia3

These kids are always excited when they are allowed inside a 21 and older club.
Sneak peak for 10 years down the line.

Orange Blossom Festival and Parade

This pic is a different point of view, isn't it?
(pre-sun burn... For me anyway)

Jessica (sunshine) and Olivia2. (next door neighbors since age 4)

It really was perfect weather.... Not too sunny. Nice breeze but 83 deg out!
(Olivia3, Bri, Sammy, and Stephanie... Awesome girls)

Sammy and her mom, Jerri. (Love them)

Waiting at the judges' booth was this fantastic-sign-holding group. It was a nice welcome for our float.
(was that Brad Pitt walking pass them? A girl can dream, right?)

Mia... With a nice SFC plug in the background

Our group float... So proud. And a HUGE shout out to the float-builders!

Junior Rock Star cuteness

Ready for show #1

These girls did great!

This trio of sisters are so sweet; just a joy to get to know.

View from the stage.... Great crowd.

Olivia1 - Our beauty. Staying cool.

A meeting of the minds.... The ever-changing line-up takes so much time.

One of our mother-daughter clogging acts (Mimi and Sally)

Our most-loved unofficial official photographer, Liana.
Taking a much needed break.

And... Best news... We took home a 1st place trophy.
(youth performing category)

Sunday... February 24, 2013
Tour de Broward

Team members had an early (8am) arrival for this event.

Spectacular ending to a new routine
They've been stretching splits for months.

Backstage

All in all... It was an exhausting, fun filled weekend.

Lots of sun and crazy schedules... But we wouldn't trade it for the world!!!

Until next time... Thanks for looking
